Creatine Powder

Creatine Powder

Creatine Monohydrate is a naturally occurring compound found in the human body and obtained in the diet primarily from meat and fish. Creatine is a popular supplement among active individuals because of its ability to serve as an energy reservoir, especially during intense physical exertion. During short, intense burst of activity, the body breaks down adenosine triphosphate (ATP) into adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and phosphate for energy. Creatine helps the body convert ADP back to ATP, providing greater amounts of ATP for energy, which may increase short-term endurance and strength. Creatine can also be stored for later use by cells, creating the "energy reservoir" active individuals desire. p>Creatine is an endogenous (made by the body) substance that is present in every human cell. It functions as an energy storehouse. Creatine is required for physical and mental exertion.

Creatine is a non amino acid derivative synthesized in the liver, kidneys, and pancreas from the amino acids GLYCINE, ARGININE, and METHIONINE. It is then transported to all the cells in the body via the bloodstream.

Approximately 60--70% of synthesized creatine is stored in the body as high energy phosphocreatine. Phosphocreatine is an important storage form used by the brain, heart, and skeletal muscles. Along with adenosine triphosphate (ATP), phosphocreatine is the most important energy source in the body.

The benefits of Creatine include:

  • Increases lean muscle mass in just a matter of weeks and accelerates fat loss
  • Improves maximum strength and endurance
  • Improves concentration during exercise
  • Improves performance in high-intensity exercises, increases energy levels and speeds up recovery rates
  • Contributes to brain function and memory
  • Participates in the formation of bones and cartilage
  • Supports the immune system
  • Protects cells
  • Provides more energy during workouts due to ATP regeneration

May also be beneficial for people who:

  • Are nutritionally deficient
  • Have conditions associated with low cellular energy
  • Have muscle weakness
  • Those concerned with muscular integrity of the heart

DIRECTIONS: As a dietary supplement, mix 1 heaping teaspoon in fruit juice or other sweetened liquid 3 to 4 times daily, before and after exercise, for the first 7 days. Thereafter, for maintenance use, consume 1 to 3 times daily. Allow 3 to 4 hours between doses. For continuous use beyond 28 days, use one serving daily or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
