A broad spectrum plant enzyme formula to aid digestion & to promote delivery of nutrients to your bloodstream & cells. Similase contains no animal products & is primarily derived from Aspergillus oryzae which is used in the fermentation of soy sauce, tamari, miso & other food products. Poorly digested food contributes to symptoms of indigestion, other gastrointestinal symptoms, malabsorption, inflammation, food sensitivities, & chronic disease.*

Unlike many other enzymes, Similase works in a wide ranging pH of 2-12. It contains the enzymes needed to digest carbohydrates/starches, fats, fibers, milk sugars (lactose), sugar (sucrose) & grain sugar (maltose). Similase also contains a variety of acidophilus & bifidus species for the replacement of normal healthy gut flora.*

Protease enzymes can irritate pre-existing inflammation of the stomach & duodenum manifested as heartburn, indigestion, stomach pain or antacid use. Some persons have gastritis & are not aware of it & should only use the Gastric Complex. Healing reactions may occur occasionally with plant enzyme usage. This is a temporary few days worsening of symptoms before improvement. Symptoms rarely become severe enough to stop usage & may even be viewed as a sign that the approach is working. However, as with any products, plant enzyme formulas should be discontinued if there are any significant adverse effects.*
