All - One Calcium Complex PowderProvides the optimum ratio of calcium & magnesium in a powdered form. It is well-absorbed with an easily adjustable dosage to complement your multi-vitamin mineral, thus providing your ideal dosage of calcium & magnesium.* It is excellent for children needing extra calcium. Just add to any drink. So many children are dairy sensitive & the avoidance of dairy products creates a risk of calcium/magnesium deficiency.* Foods high in calcium are dairy products, soybeans, molasses, yeast, egg yolk, whole-body seafoods, such as sardines, & some seeds & nuts, kale, collards, mustard greens, & turnip greens. A high protein diet or high salt intake or high sugar will increase calcium loss in the urine. Caffeine increases the urinary & intestinal loss of calcium. A low protein diet will decrease dietary calcium absorption, so proper protein balance is important. Adequate vitamin D is essential for proper calcium absorption & metabolism. Inactivity leads to increased urinary calcium loss.* You have varying calcium requirements, depending upon your diet, your absorption, whether or not you are pregnant, breast feeding, are post -menopausal, have bon3e loss, or have other specific needs.* Calcium loss can be decreased by giving sodium bicarbonate, suggesting that an acidic system contributes to calcium loss. Vitamin C improves the absorption of calcium.* The body loses more calcium after middle age & also may have greater calcium needs. The elderly tend to have difficulty absorbing dietary calcium & to also have calcium deficient diets. Low stomach acid is often partially responsible for this. See Betaine HCL Ninety nine percent of your body calcium is in your bones.* The remaining calcium fulfills the following functions:
The average woman's calcium intake is 500-600 mg daily, which has been found to result in bone loss of 1.5% a year. Women begin to lose bone in their 40s & 50s. Thirty percent of women over 50 years of age have osteoporosis. Estrogen deprived women need higher levels of calcium to remain in positive calcium balance. Bone loss begins later in men & is of less consequence since men have greater skeletal mass to begin with. Twenty percent of men over 65 years have bone loss.* Bone loss affects 15-20 million Americans causing millions of fractures yearly, resulting in reduced quality of life, disability, associated illness & great medical cost.* Women should make sure their daily calcium intake is 1000-1500 mg. before the age their menstrual cycle ends Don't wait until after you have bone loss. You daily lose calcium in your urine, stools & sweat. If there is not enough for your body functions, calcium will be withdrawn from bone & hence begins the erosion of the skeleton.* SYMPTOMS OF CALCIUM DEFICIENCY :
