Curcumin 95

Curcumin 95

Curcumin is a polyphenal & potent antioxidant found in the popular Indian curry spice Turmeric.

Curcumin has also emerged as a leading cancer prevention natural substance. It sets in motion the process of programmed cell destruction (apoptosis) and blocks the new blood vessel growth tumors need to thrive & spread (angiogenesis).

Curcumin has also demonstrated:

  • Anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting leukotriene formation (an inflammation causing chemical in the body.) inhibiting platelet clumping, & prompting the dissolution of clots.

  • Has exhibited potent antioxidant activities.

  • May protect against environmental carcinogens, especially cigarette smoke.

  • Has anti-inflammatory effects which may partially be related to making more cortisol available from the adrenal gland or improving responsiveness to cortisol.

  • Helps to decrease the inflammation causing tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a).

  • Combined with soy may help prevent hormone-related cancers.

  • In animal studies exhibits antimutagenic & anticarcinogenic properties.

  • Affects bile output from the gallbladder.

Curcumin has been the subject of numerous studies involving cancer prevention.

These recent studies include:

  • A 2004 phase I clinical trial by British onocology researchers on the ideal doses of curcumin for the treatment of colon cancer. This trial found that doses as high as 3,600 mg daily for up to four months reduced blood levels of an inflammatory compound associated with cancer by up to 60% with no risk of side effects.
  • In a 2005 study of biopsy tissue taken from patients with colorectal cancer an even more vivid demonstration of curcumin’s cancer prevention potential emerged. Curcumin was observed to reduce DNA mutations that are associated with malignancy.

  • Scientists at the Cleveland Clinic conducted a study in 2006 with patients suffering from familial adenomatous polyposis(FAP), a hereditary condition in which hundreds of pre-malignant polyps, develop & can eventually turn malignant.

The scientists supplemented the FAP patients with 480 mg of curcumin & 20 mg of quercitin 3X daily for six months.

Their findings showed that curcumin along with another anti-inflammatory polyphenol called Quercetin caused these polyps to substantially diminish.

Every single patient showed an average reduction in polyp numbers of 60% and a size reduction of 51% And even though non-steroidal drugs such as Celebrex produce similar results, the side effects were considerable.

DIRECTIONS: 1 capsule 3 times daily with meals.
